Return Path will now offer multivariate testing for email marketers to adapt their emails, on the fly, to take advantage of the most effective creative.

With 8Seconds Optimizer, marketers or email senders can deploy emails that present a selection of different images (calls to action, banners, sponsor logos, buttons, header images, and so on) .. 8Seconds shows these different images to the recipients that open the email. 8Seconds then measures, in real time, the effectiveness of the combination of images based on open rates and clicks, and once a statistically significant or pre-determined measure has been reached, it automatically shows the optimized email to the remaining recipients. The 8Seconds Optimizer works best in combination with Return Path’s Certification email whitelist program because certified emails are delivered with images rendered and links enabled at many top email providers, including Windows Live Hotmail and Yahoo! Mail. The default setting for both Hotmail and Yahoo! is images are turned off for non-certified email, making image-based services such as this less effective.
